lessons learnt 2017

Hey Guys,

This being the 12th day of the 12 days of Christmas?? and my last post for the year I decided to share some of the lessons I learnt in 2017.

2017 was the year of unlearning. This was my first lesson learn to unlearn and relearn most of what I “know”. To become who you need to be sometimes you have to first become undone, unraveled to your core and figure out who you truly are.

Call yourself out on our own bullshit.Check yourself. Sometimes you are the toxic person, sometimes you are mean, negative, and sometimes the problem is you. And that doesn’t make you any less worthy, keep growing, keep checking yourself. Mistakes are opportunities look at them, own them, grow and move on. You’re human, it’s okay.

To Stop putting timelines and deadlines on your healing, and just be. Be kind to yourself, be patient with your process. Be a little selfish with your energy and drink cups of self-love unapologetically.

Gratitude turns what we have into enough. Being grateful for the simplest things has brought so much positivity in my life.

To keep my circle small of people who would go above and beyond for me because they would expect nothing less from me and to be okay if that circle is made up of one or two people. Because they are my person/people.
One of the best decisions I’ve made this year is to have a weekly date with my best friend come rain or sunshine or turbulent wallet situations because we all face growing pains and though we may not really offer each other the needed help meeting up and having a chitchat over coffee/tea is therapy enough for the week and I can confidently say it has strengthened our relationship.

I’ve learned that I am all I’ve got. I have learnt to be self-sufficient not to contradict my previous point but your people/person won’t be there for you 24/7 .learn to fight for yourself like your life depends on it because it does.

I have learnt to trust the magic of new beginnings. It doesn’t matter how far gone you are or how old you are you can finish he sentence with me guys …Begin Again.

Here’s to a prosperous 2018
