Fresh starts thanks to the calendar happen every year just set your watch to January 🙂 …our reward for surviving the holiday season is a New Year bringing on the great tradition of new years resolutions put your past behind you and start over…It is hard to resist the chance of a new beginning,a chance to put the problems of last years to bed so as cliche as it may be I believe that whenever the opportunity presents itself for you to pause and re-evaluate your goals and aspirations, you should take it. I try to make mine as fun and as simple as possible I find them easier to accomplish and also the lesser the pressure the higher the chances are that I will accomplish them. Here are my resolutions from 2015 and 2016 in case you need inspiration to make simple lifestyle changes. Lets jump right into 2017 resolutions.
One of the ways to stay happy and motivated is to set achievable goals not resolutions that will be ancient history come February. I believe in setting small, attainable goals throughout the year instead of a singular overwhelming goal on January that makes you feel anxious and helpless. It is quite rewarding when you look back and realize you were actually able to achieve most of the goals you set out to in the beginning of the year. I was able to achieve almost all of my resolutions last year (read them here) and that’s why I am excited and optimistic about setting new ones this year! I base my resolutions on making lifestyle changes and try to make them as fun as possible while at it!
Around this time of the year I like to slow down, reminisce about my favorite moments, try to take the time to appreciate all the little and big things that were a part of my life in the past twelve months, and also to draw some conclusions about which kinds of things make me happy and which don’t. I believe in doing a yearly review and as 2015 comes to an end,its the perfect time to reflect and look back on everything I have experienced , discovered and achieved during the last 12 months.
Being the end of the month of July I decided to do a little retrospective on my New Year resolution (read them here) to see how I have done so far. Some of them are a solid definition of Done even if I do say so myself and others, if we are being honest, need to be dusted so to speak or replaced all together.
