So, I never thought I’d ever use a quote by Lil Wayne don’t get me wrong I do like his music but that mostly involves me going like ‘wait, what? you wanna put what where?’ Listening to hip-hop as a woman is such a treat no?

Life is tough but one thing is sure putting yourself down won’t make it any easier. Being in your 20s is one weird, wild emotional roller coaster. Sure, we all have our bad days everything goes wrong, nothing seems to go your way and you are just not feeling good enough but it stings just a little more when you are trying to get your life together. Everything feels like it’s one mistake away from falling apart. I have been told countless times how life is easier when you are in your 20s like life is one big party because you have less responsibilities. But when you have dreams, goals, ambitions and you are jobless wilting at the weight of your frustrations and expectations is not only possible but an inevitability! It’s been one year since I completed campus and everything is constantly changing some great, some not so good and others downright ugly! Personally, I found it jarring how unprepared I was for the “real world”. Clearly there is SO much that we experience after graduation that I would have been so grateful to learn before that day came. Here are some of the most important things I’ve learned so far some of which I wish someone told me and not just about getting married or having kids which was covered extensively in my sociology lectures! Thank you!
Karl Lagerfeld famously said:’ one is never overdressed or under-dressed with a little black dress.” And I couldn’t agree more it’s pretty hard to go wrong in this classic piece! One of the things I love about the lbd is its simplicity and sophistication. What’s more I can’t think of one occasion in which the black dress won’t have you covered. It’s one of those pieces that I believe every woman should have in her arsenal!
Cool color block never looked this effortless! To say that color blocking separates is daunting is a huge understatement that why when I came across this dress where that’s already done for me there was no way it was not coming home with me. It’s the perfect look for a weekend brunch or party.
Floral dresses are closet must-haves from sweet floral frocks to wonderful wraps there are endless ways to embrace this print. They brighten up your day with vivid blooms making running errands much more fun or the catch up lunch that much merrier! When I came across this dress I didn’t give it a second look.
Happy New Month Loves,
So, I am in search of a 48 hour day because there never seems to be enough hours in a day for me to do all the things I have to do.My day seems to be full of dozens of tasks and personal obligations. I know for a fact that I am most productive in the morning but somewhere along the way I decided that if I sleep in then I will be more productive. Big mistake!
One of the ways to stay happy and motivated is to set achievable goals not resolutions that will be ancient history come February. I believe in setting small, attainable goals throughout the year instead of a singular overwhelming goal on January that makes you feel anxious and helpless. It is quite rewarding when you look back and realize you were actually able to achieve most of the goals you set out to in the beginning of the year. I was able to achieve almost all of my resolutions last year (read them here) and that’s why I am excited and optimistic about setting new ones this year! I base my resolutions on making lifestyle changes and try to make them as fun as possible while at it!
Around this time of the year I like to slow down, reminisce about my favorite moments, try to take the time to appreciate all the little and big things that were a part of my life in the past twelve months, and also to draw some conclusions about which kinds of things make me happy and which don’t. I believe in doing a yearly review and as 2015 comes to an end,its the perfect time to reflect and look back on everything I have experienced , discovered and achieved during the last 12 months.
If there’s one night to bust out all the sparkles and shine, it’s NYE. It makes the best excuse all year to dress up, try something new and get downright creative with your look!
