Simple Green Smoothie Recipe!

Hey Guys,

So, a couple of weeks ago I shared a green smoothie video on my Instagram stories and I got a lot of questions about the recipe ok not A LOT a little over five people wanted to know the recipe and that to me qualifies as a lot LOL. Anyway, I decided to do a post on the recipe not only because of that but also because of how simple the recipe is. It is so simple that my initial thought when I came across it on Instagram was, that can’t be right and if it is, it must taste like crap! It required just three ingredients: spinach, orange juice and bananas!

Normally, with green juice I always have to prepare myself mentally and go grocery shopping on the farmers market because it requires a gazillion ingredients that are not readily available on normal market days! To be honest, I just dreaded the entire preparation process it was just tedious and inconvenient and so as a result I’d make green juice like once a year well, that’s a stretch but you get the point. With this recipe however, I can get home tired from work and still manage to squeeze in ten minutes to fix myself a smoothie and that to me is a major WIN! Plus it’s very AFFORDABLE! What more can a girl ask for?

I try as much as possible to eat healthy whenever I can so such simple smoothie recipes are such a treat for me. I am on the lookout for more of these quick fix recipes if you guys have any suggestions I can try help a sister out yes?

Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients

  • Spinach
  • Orange juice
  • Bananas
  • Chia seeds (optional)
  • Passion fruit (optional)

Directions:

  • Clean the spinach and peel and slice the bananas. Cut oranges into halves and squeeze out juice using citrus fruit juicer.
  • First, pour orange juice in a blender jar.
  • Add sliced bananas and spinach.
  • Blend until smooth puree.
  • Serve mixed with passion fruit, chia seeds and bananas for extra sweetness.(optional)

Note: If your taste buds are not accustomed to the tart taste of raw spinach use a less amount of it initially and then work your way up.

It is also worth noting that it was a recipe recommended for healthy hair growth I hope that is motivation enough for you guys to try it out.
